Spring Retreat 2010 Deets

We will officially start at 8pm on the Friday evening. You can arrive any time from 5pm onwards. We will be leaving camp at 2pm on Sunday.

Cost will be $80 per person and will include a bed for two nights, breakfast and lunches. You will be responsible for your own dinners - whether you want to bring stuff in or whether we head to Frankton for various eat in or take out options. There will be some freebies...

Workshops will be optional extras and details for these will come later.

Please flick me an email if you want to start making payments towards the weekend so it doesn't cost you heaps all at once. I'll let you know the account details.

Deposits of at least $40 (this is non-refundable as is accomodation cost that needs to be pre-paid) are essential by the last working day of September with full payment to be made by the 1st of November 2010.

Everyone will need to be willing to do dishes, tidy up after selves and help with full clean up at the end of camp. If you are allergic to this please let me know when you register so I can charge you a little extra :-)

The registration form is coming...just slowly sorry. This post is to give you a heads up :-)

Spring Retreat 2010?

Looking ahead towards the end of the year... love the spring retreat as I get many gifts etc sorted for Christmas and end of year thank you's for teachers and I really enjoy the company of wonderfully creative and friendly people!

What are your thoughts? Do we look at doing something again? No? Yes? I already have an uber talented lady keen to do a workshop on herbal skin care type products - would make wonderful gifts! But with teaching full time I don't have the time needed to put into running something special. Anyone keen to help out/take over? organise part of it? do the food? What's a fair cost for the weekend? How much would you pay to do workshops?

When would suit best: September? October? November?

Would love to know....

Thank You

To all those who came along. I really enjoyed your company, your creativity and all the tips and tricks we learned from each other.

Thank you Nik, Delys, Lynley and Julie for the Card making on Friday evening.

Thank you Mum, Sharon and Lynley for the workshops on Saturday - I loved seeing what everyone created and seeing the smiles when people recognised the effect that colours can have on your presence.

Thank you Jase for your wonderful food provisions yet again. Love you :-)

Huge Thank You to Andrea from Scrapbook Outlet New Zealand for bringing up your shop and supplying us with fantastic goodie bags and prizes (even if some of them arrived a little after the prize giving). Thanks also to Up2Scrap for previous issues of Up2Scrap Magazine and to Making Memories for the 8 x 8 pads, paints and embellishments!

Thank you everyone for a productive, creative and highly enjoyable weekend!

Smiles,
Lara

The workshops!

You can finally download the registration form for the workshops via the link on the right hand side of this blog! You will also see that the day registrations are now also accessible.

If we put enough pressure on all our Stampin Up Demonstrators...do you think they'd do a combined 'stamp a stack' with us?

Anyway, I think all the info is there...Let me know if I haven't included some vital information on the forms. There will be a 10% of the total cost added to overnight registrations from Friday 25th of September, up till this time people can still register. Both day registrations and workshop registrations close on Friday 30th of October. Full payments must be received by this date also.

Getting Organised

with Lynley!
Well not organising you, but organising your cards!
You will get to choose from a range of Stampin Up papers to create a handy organiser! You will use a Bind it All, play with paper folding and stamping. You will finish with either something very useful for yourself or for a gift and you will know how to repeat this with other papers too so you can cross even more names off that list! Cost is approximately $25.

Not Tinsel

CRYSTAL CLEAR IMPRESSIONS

With Sharon Newport.
Join me in creating a 6x6 acrylic album using the lovely papers and embellishments from the little yellow bicycle range.
You will have a choice of three paper ranges
a) Traveller (however this paper will work wonderfully with any theme.....family, teen, dad, mum etc. It is a very versatile paper range!!)
b) Baby Safari Girl ( Range would be suitable for girls up to 8 years)
c) Baby Safari Boy ( Range would be suitable for boys up to 8 years)

Use innovative techniques to display photographs/memorabilia in a clear format. We will be using paper piecing techniques/ alcohol inks/ embossing powders/ ribbons/ flowers and more to construct a beautiful gift album......or keep it yourself!! Album uses photographs
that are 3" x 4" or less....can be added later.
Class fee $40.00. Kit includes everything you need to complete the album (including covers and 6 pages)
You will need to supply adhesives (clear glue, double sided tape, xyron if you have one, and diamond glaze or similar is also handy for this project) and your basic tool kit. Also PERMANENT pens (sharpies)

please note the price change of $40.00 for this workshop
