Thank You

to Nik, for cute packages on our tables, for food, for your company and for all the organising you did for all of us!

to Janine for running a most successful workshop...for great notes...and for sharing your passion for these products.  It has already got me making lists of items I need to make more of them and from the blog posts I have read so far...others enjoyed your 'Steeped in Beautea' workshop too.  I also loved the tea that Mike had concocted, make sure you let us know when it's for sale!

to Andrea, who couldn't be with us, but who still sent us a shop and some class packs.  Thinking of you and thanking you at the same time.

to everyone who came and made the weekend possible and so enjoyable.  We all need to laugh more in our everyday and this weekend gave us lots of opportunities to laugh.  thank you.

soooo, get your shimmer pants ready for some craftastic events in 2011.

Workshops & Day Croppers

'Steeped in Beautea' with Janine will be $25 with some materials supplied.  You will need to pre-purchase some of the ingredients - that way you'll be able to make heaps and get lots of gifts ticked off!

'Because things don't always stay the same' with Lara will be $10 with some materials supplied.  You will need to pre-purchase the canvas and materials to go on it - as with Janines workshop, this means you can buy more of what you need and get some more gifts sorted over the weekend.

Some of you have indicated that you want to be a part of one or both of the workshops, if you are keen and have not let me know please do so ASAP so both tutors can have a good idea of the numbers they need to prepare for.

Supply Lists will be supplied following payment for both workshops.  Workshop payments will need to be paid by 1st November 2010 at the latest with any final payments for the retreat.

Day croppers...$40 for the day + any workshop costs.  This is only for the Saturday from 9am - 10:30pm.  Please note that there is no dinner supplied on Saturday night - we get to go out....the dinner options are endless!  At Frankton there's Indian, Thai, BK, Subway, Nando's, Pizza and maybe even McDonalds, or you could really escape and head into Queenstown for a wander.

Right, just about organised enough to hand over the reins to Nik who will be doing most of the organising from now until the retreat is done & dusted.  I've started thinking about what I need to get done over the weekend and which gifts I need to do first!

Steeped in Beautea

Want to give something a little different for gifts this holiday season?

How about learning to make some bath salts, organic talcum powder, bath milk and bath teas to give, but beware, they are so good that you might not want to give them away! Never fear, you will also have the recipes so you can make more to give away...start looking for cute storage jars and bottles now.

I have loved reading of Janines journey with these products and am really excited that she can share the 'how to' with us in real life at the next retreat.

Watch this space for further details...

Canvas Workshop

In this workshop we will create one-of-a-kind canvas works on which the recipient can change what's on display easily - yearly snapshots for Nana, something pretty for your own wall or a gift for a sibling - the one above was created for my sisters birthday.

Cost will be $10 but you will be responsible for getting together all of the materials to make it (material lists will be supplied on registration/payment).

You will leave this workshop with the notes on how to make more of these delightful gifts and lots of ideas on how to make each one completely different and individualised - that's part of the 'handmade' joy!

Spring Retreat 2010 Deets

We will officially start at 8pm on the Friday evening. You can arrive any time from 5pm onwards. We will be leaving camp at 2pm on Sunday.

Cost will be $80 per person and will include a bed for two nights, breakfast and lunches. You will be responsible for your own dinners - whether you want to bring stuff in or whether we head to Frankton for various eat in or take out options. There will be some freebies...

Workshops will be optional extras and details for these will come later.

Please flick me an email if you want to start making payments towards the weekend so it doesn't cost you heaps all at once. I'll let you know the account details.

Deposits of at least $40 (this is non-refundable as is accomodation cost that needs to be pre-paid) are essential by the last working day of September with full payment to be made by the 1st of November 2010.

Everyone will need to be willing to do dishes, tidy up after selves and help with full clean up at the end of camp. If you are allergic to this please let me know when you register so I can charge you a little extra :-)

The registration form is coming...just slowly sorry. This post is to give you a heads up :-)

Spring Retreat 2010?

Looking ahead towards the end of the year... love the spring retreat as I get many gifts etc sorted for Christmas and end of year thank you's for teachers and I really enjoy the company of wonderfully creative and friendly people!

What are your thoughts? Do we look at doing something again? No? Yes? I already have an uber talented lady keen to do a workshop on herbal skin care type products - would make wonderful gifts! But with teaching full time I don't have the time needed to put into running something special. Anyone keen to help out/take over? organise part of it? do the food? What's a fair cost for the weekend? How much would you pay to do workshops?

When would suit best: September? October? November?

Would love to know....
